About The Weft Bank
From creating doll dresses on my mom’s Singer when I was young, to making Halloween costumes for my twin sons when they were younger, I’ve been sewing for most of my life. I began making bags and quilts about twenty years ago, and I have been hooked ever since! I am drawn to unique and colorful fabrics and textures, and I love to combine them to create something both beautiful and functional.
I personally construct all of my products in my home studio in Sonoma, CA, in styles that are elegant yet simple, and full of color. I love adding small details, from unique linings to distinct zipper pulls. I use innovative and adapted sewing patterns with fabrics that I source both locally and from my travels in the U.S. and abroad.
The Weft Bank name is a play-on-words derived from the Left Bank of Paris - an earlier period of a thriving, artistic and intellectual community - and “weft,” which refers to the transverse thread which is passed through the “warp” (lengthwise) threads to create woven fabric.
